 FLYING SOLO



As the new year welcomes us, I am more than happy to say that this year I have my mind set on what I had always planned on doing ... & that is simply, work hard & play harder!

When your circumstances force you out of relationships / friendships there's nothing more to do than to focus on yourself & your priorities ; for me , Church (read my other blog for more on me & church http://lydiarees11.blogspot.com.au/2015/02/transitions.html?m=1), my family, my career & last but definitely never the least ME! I am not going to lie when I say its going to be scary , but I know it will all be worth it.

I took myself on some adventures and stepped far outside of my comfort zone and my oh my, am I happy that I did. The more you stray from what we consider as "comfortable", the more we allow ourselves to understand the things going on around us.



SAMOA - where the mosquitos bite, and the sun bites harder



 I really did mean it when I said "this is the year of travel"! I had the Privilege of spending Christmas & finishing 2016 & starting 2017 in the beautiful, breathtaking place Samoa! It was such an amazing experience, witnessing how different they spend Christmas as opposed to the Australian Christmas. What made the trip extra special was knowing that, Samoa is my home land. It is where my parents lived, breathed and grew up before migrating to New Zealand. The people there, the vendors, the kids on the streets, the market place workers ; those are my people. We share blood which is thicker than any water.


FIJI - aesthetic photograph opportunities everywhere!



 Not long after the new year approached, I was well & truly on my way to the lovely Fiji! Fiji has always been so amazing, similar to Samoa! I have to say, I really do love my pacific islands simply because the sun enjoys kissing my skin. One of the things that really caught my attention in Fiji was the lovely hospitality and friendliness. Each & every staff member making me feel like I was at home. Nothing but love !! Great effort Fiji ! 



I snapped this photo days later when again I was on another flight on my way back home to the gorgeous Sydney Australia.
It is only a few months into 2017 and I can see where I am heading. I have come to understand that things truly do happen for a reason ; so I am grateful of everything that has happened this far.

I love being in the air, I love struggling to put my carry on luggage in their compartments, I love the excitement of waiting for my luggage to be collected, I love to feeling of take off & landing. I love struggling to fit in my assigned seat and having people invade my personal space.  All of it ! This year, is the year of travel ... whether it's a drive down to thecentral coast for a weekend or a flight half way across the world , It's the year for Travel ✈️

Go find yourself, you know the way
