To my Darling Daughter,

Where ever you are in life, I want you to know that I love you with ever single bone in my body, and with every beat in my heart. No matter how you came to be in this world, i was always try and give you the best of the best to ensure that you never go a day wondering if you're loved or not. Since you were young, I have slowly taught you right from wrong, but i know how cruel this work can be, which hurts. It hurts me to know that some lessons in life can only be learnt the hard way. My daughter, being old now, i may not understand the lingo of the month, and i may not groove to your style of music but there are some things that i understand, which you are yet to. Heartache, friendships, life decisions. The whole lot. I want you to know that no matter how broken our relationship may be at times, i am always open ears for when you need someone to speak to, and my shoulder is always here if you need one to cry on. The idea of opening up to me may sound scary but i promise you that i can offer you some advice where needed.

I know that there will be a time in your life where you will not like things about yourself; your body, the way you look, the way you speak or even the way you dress. But i promise you that you are beautiful and perfect. Your self worth is not and will never be determined by likes, by shares, by posts or by people in general. You are priceless. Friends will always come and go and i know that you will learn for yourself which friendships are worth holding on to. I promise to try my best to set a good example for you, to give you the best opportunity in life.  My daughter, i pray that whenyou enter this world, that everything is a lot better than what it currently is. I hope that you are able to attend school without the worry of a school shooting. I hope that you are able to find employment where all is equal. I pray that you will be able to walk down the street without feeling intimidated by other males and even females.

I promise you that no other group of friends can offer the love that a family can. No one else can make you feel at home like your family can. I know there will be times where you will be embarrassed of me, and that's okay. It will hurt but i can deal with that. I know that there will be days where you are moody and feel like no one understand, but my darling, i do, i understand.

I want you to know that you will reach a certain age where we give you our trust and you make your own decisions. As much as it will hurt you, it will equally hurt me to see you cry, sad or even a little bit disappointed. There is only so much that i can say, but for now, all you need to know is that I love you with all that I am, and everything that i do.

The inspiration behind this specific post was the mere idea of having a child who acts as bratty and stuck up as I am to my mother sometimes. Often i fail to see that my mumma is only trying to help me and many times i do get embarrassed to be around her. Many people will know though that that is the only lady that i would kill for. The only person that i would literally kill for.  I love my mum to death and i know that the bond we share infinite.
I also chose to write a letter to my future daughter because i want her to understand that I understand. What ever she may be going through, i want her to know that she can always come to me. Feel free to send this to a future queen, your very own daughters!
